a pictures worth a thousand words

top 'o the morning to ya pretty girls! hope you're doing swell
so I'm sure you're all dying to know how my picnic in the park with Ginge went, right?! ;) Well, I'll spare you the mushy gooshy details and go right to the important stuff.. what i wore. I decided to ahead and get dolled up for the occasion since it's such a rare occurence, so I threw on this little number.

floral print sundress from American Eagle

you may or may not recognize this dress from a little movie called High School Musical 3...

yeah, that was actually me staring in those movies..

**wakes up to reality**
anywayz, I do have a reason for showing you this dress other than finding an excuse to plug in pics of Z-eron, though that was a definite perk. So y'all remember this post where i mentioned a dress in my spring wardbrobe that used to fit like a potato sack and I was thrilled to see that it actually fit this summer? Welp, this is the dress! So, I decided to do a side by side comparison for you chicks.

*i know it looks like a totally different dress, but i assure you its not :)*
the left picture is from me last summer and the right picture is me, well.. last night. So, here's my change.. a year later, after gaining a substantial amount of weight... and i'l be honest, i don't see too much of a difference in my body, do you?! From an outside perspective looking at these pictures the only places where i notice a huge change are:
  • my face (though you can't really see that from this picture). In the left my eyes are sunken in, my face is frail and lifeless. Whereas now my face looks healthy and my cheeks are full.
  • my boobies! woo-wee. though I still might be a worthy cantidate for the itty bitty titty committee, I am definitely rockin' some clevage these days.. can i get an amen?!
  • my hair: so in the first picture we see i'm rockin' the scarecrow look.. not hot. My hair is limp, dry, and scraggly. Now-a-days, my hair is much thicker and voluminous.. lovez it!

moral of the story being, through the weight gain journey I understand that it is easy to begin scrutinizing your body with ED chirping in your ear. Try to take a step back and really admire your body, admire the changes, and embrace them. At the risk of sounding like a broken record, this process is about so much more than gaining weight.. so, i've decided i'm going to scratch the pounds bull$h!t (pardon my french) and just consider myself to be gaining health... can you dig it?!

alright well I am off to take my healthy face, boobiez, and hair to work :)
catch ya on the flip side, homegirls!

blogless breakast

hey my foxy mamas! happy sunday to y'all!
so yesterday morning something funky was going on at the PB&J casa.. the tv cable was out and.. dun dun dun, brace yourselves for this one.. WE HAD NO INTERNET CONNECTION. *gasp!* what's a girl to do without her morning serving of blogs?

take her laptop to a faraway place where there is internet connection?

http://pro.corbis.com/images/42-18580390.jpg?size=572&uid=%7B91B24B0D-8BDA-4131-A4DB-1BEE97D9BC03%7D
...i considered it

but i was too tired for those shenanigans so i settled for breakfast in bed
moo juice and a PB&nana burger
eaten open faced alongside some Jon Gosselin drama.. yikes! juicy stuff.

a worthy substitution to my regular morning routine i suppose. Unfortunately, now my google reader is more stacked than Pam Anderson so bear with me while I play ketchup on your lovely ladies' lives!

after some pee-lah-tees, I realized time had slowly escaped me and I had about 10 minutes to get to work and I was still rockin' my AE boxers and my hair was a hot mess. So, what do i do? run around like a freak and get ready as fast as possible? No, in true bloggie fashion.. i ate a snack :)
vanilla chobani with some raisins and vanilla bean almonds and a mini peanut butter clif bar

such a cute little guy, ain't he?

now before y'all think I'm the worst employee ever -- the reason i'm so chill with going to work late is because the boss has me going in at 1:30 but the girl on the cart before me doesn't come in until 2:30 so i literally sit there for an hour with nothing to do. Actually, I'm helping out my boss by saving her money.. i think i deserve a reward! agreed?

after warding off slimeballs working I came home for some chow

may-juh shouts to my main squeeze for this star component of my dinner.
cottage cheese & raisins on a E-muffin eaten with an unpictured fish cake and b-sprouts

dessert was banana cream pies healthier twin sister..
vanilla pudding, nana slices, crushed whole wheat grahams, whipped cream up the whazoo. Some whipped cream may or may not have made it to my mouth straight out of the can....don't pretend you don't do it. ;)

as for today the game plan was for me to work but fortunately one of my girlfriends down at the course asked if i could switch shifts with her tomorrow.. so I got today free to hang out with my Ginge! It's definitely difficult for us to spend time together during the day -- our schedules are the exact opposite. On the weekdays he's a camp counselour until 3:00pm and then on the weekends when he has off, I work during the day.. FML x's 10! But today the stars aligned for us and we lucked out with the weather too so we're planning on hitting up the park for a little pic-naccc action. I know, we're such cornballs.

Have a b-e-a-utiful day chicks!

coming clean

Good morning to you, beauties!
This morning I've decided to take the boring route in my blog and address something that's been on my mind for a few days now.. so I hope you don't mind a little snoozefest post action.

the lovely Casaundra pointed out to be the other day that I never talk about my nutritionist appointments or physical progress in recovery and though I have been subconsciously doing this after a little self reflection i've realized there's a method to my madness.

You may have noticed in my beginning stages of my recovery I was fairly honest and open about my weight and body fat percentage gains. As I've continued the process I've realized that recovery truly is about so much more than weight. I've had weeks where I've gained, weeks where I've maintained, and unfortunately, weeks when I've lost. My body has been going through vast transformations and has reacted differently at different times. Though this may be cowardly of me I was apprehensive to share the information of my weight plateauing or dropping on the blog soley because I didn't want anyone to feel as though "Jenny's not trying as hard" "she's relapsing". Had I felt as though I genuinely was losing the fight and couldn't push forward any more you bet your bottom dollar I would have blogged about it in seek of your fabulous ladies' suport! But, I can honestly say from the bottom of my heart that during my journey i have remained optimistic and determined and feel as though I've uncovered the true meaning of recovery. Sure, gaining the weight is important to my physical health, but i feel as though the zest for life that i have obtained is equally if not more important to my mental health, and that is what I share with you. I would hate for you girls to read about my "2lb weight gains" or ".5lb loses" and think.. "oh, Jenny gained 2 lbs this week, she's recovering well!" or "she lost .5lb, she's really failing!" more so - I wish to share with you the happiness I've acquired through this process and let that be the reflection of my growth and progress. I want to show you that recovery is a POSITIVE thing -- and that I couldn't be more content or at peace with where I am...and you can achieve this as well!

I hope this makes sense -- it's not even 10am and i feel i've utilized more brain power writing this than i have all summer, so pardon my rambling or possible grammatical errors.

Well, I am off to work. After yesterday I'm praying I make a little more moolah. Mother Natch struck in all her wrathful glory but rather than sending me home and saving herself some dough, my boss decided to keep me there in case the weather cleared up. So, basically I got paid for sitting in the bar for two hours, bummer..

therapy thursday

hey there amigas, can i get a TGIF?!
**breaks out in friday dance but then remembers she has to work today** .. dang-it!

though I can't be complaining, after therapy yesterday I blew a ton of cash and could definitely use a little reimbursement. Spending money at therapy?! welp, shopping therapy that is! buaha, i'm so clever...

first stop was TJmaxx where I found some unncessary, but wonderful, goods for my purple palace.
purple floral shoebox doning the ever so cliche, yet beautiful quote "live laugh love"

what did i store inside here you ask? well, if you have to ask you don't know me too well...
typical.. great for easy access (that's what she said, holla)

i also grabbed this little lady..
here's a boob shot for all your hornballs out there ;)shawtii is stacked, i think Ginge wanted to take her home.. god knows she puts me to shame.

i also got a photo of this gorgeous bombshell ..
i love me some Marilyn

after TJ's it hit up the grocery store to do some real damage. Apparently the Greek yogurt god's have heard my prayers and blessed my life with two new finds.
brown cow all natural blueberry greek yogurt (4pack)
never tried this brand actually but i definitely dig the fact that you can buy it in bulk.. it saves me some of those George Washingtons, ya heard?

and here was the real kicker..
strawberry oikos! *rejoice!*

now we all know the perfect partner for yogurt is..what else? granola! but not just another granola -- peanut butter and Jenny granola!
that is one tall drink o' water..

Lauren over at Mix My Granola was kind enough to contact me and ask if i wanted to try some of their delish granola... to which i obviously said YES, PLEASE! so i hit up the website and threw together some yummy ingredients..they certainly didn't skimp on the goods!

i hate to toot my own horn but i am a granola making master (and a humble one at that) this mix was off the charts!lovez it.
thanks so much again Lauren for the awesome opportunity to mix my own granola and try your wonderful product!

alrighty i'm off to make that money
happy friday, girlfriends!

ice [creepy] man

thursday already?! woo-wee.. time flies when you're doing nothing ;).

Wednesday started off as any good day should - with breakfast, obvz
whole wheat EM with cinnraiswirl PB, banana "butter" orange segments and some miscellaneous banana slices

banana butter recipe:
ingredients:
1 banana

directions:
take fork and mash the living daylights out of banana

i know i know, my culinary schools are extraordinary. It took me days to come up with that one, be impressed.

after breakfast i had a hot date with my yoga mat. We decided to get comfortable with the a 30 minute morning flow followed by some 8 minute yoga for abs and called it a day because my sweaty butt needed to shower and get ready for another hot date with Ginge. I know, 2 dates in one day? i get around more than this dude:
http://www.clevelandleader.com/files/hughhefnergirls.jpg

as i briefly mentioned yesterday the Ginge and I took his younger brother to the park. After a healthy dosage of monkey bars and climbing up the slide (talk about a workout.. my calves are still screamin'!) i took Ginge's bro to get a sweet treat from the ice creepy cream man who offered my a free screwball for "having such a nice smile". I gotta tell ya, I have a feeling homie was more concerned with the screwin' than the ballin'.. if you catch my drift. What makes it even worse is that he thought Ginge's brother was my son which means a.) i look old enough to have an 8 year old son.. and b.) he tried to get in my pants even though he thought i was married with a kid.. slimeball extreme.

after that extravaganza i needed a drankkkk snack. I poked my hand around my Penny's low fat desserts stash (which is unfortunately runnin' mighty low.. drat!) and dove in to this little winner...

Orange Cranberry muffin top

while rummaging through my PB cabinet (yes, there is a cabinet devoted to peanut butter in my kitchen.. only in the PB&family household) i wasn't quite sure which one would be best with this muffin top. Luckily, i remembered this bombshell sayin' how much she loved chocolate and orange together and since i want to be her trust her taste, i decided dark chocolate dreams was the lucky companion for orange-cran today.
my girl knows her shizz.. the choc/orange combo was slammin' and the dried cranberries added a nice flair.

later on last night I watched Revolutionary Road with my dad and you girls were right -- it got mad awkward at some parts... but asides from the breasts and intercourse it was a great movie! Very raw and perhaps a slight over-exageration of the effects of Suburbia.. but it still made for a great plot. I recommend!

so that was my day in all of it's glory...ice cream men, muffin tops, and boobies with dad. A glamorous life i live, no?

today I'm off to the nutritionist then i may hit up costco to buy a food processor solely so i will be able to make the banana soft serve that everyone and their momma is buzzin' about.. call me crazy.

happy thursday to you all!

rappin' skillz.. (how to alert!)

hey-o my name is Jenny but they call me J-money
okay, no they don't but that'd be pretty funny

i like peanut butter, especially on toast
PB&Co's the one i love the most

my main squeeze, Sean, has red hair
whenever we go out the kids stop and stare

i got a question from the girl reppin' inside i'm still dancin'
who's the radest chick around, even cooler than hanson
http://www.boston.com/ae/sidekick/blog/hanson.jpg

she wanted some advice on how to rap
so i thought i'd broadcast it here for all you other saps

as y'all can see my rhymes are mad ill
see homegirl, i told ya i had rappin' skillz..

oh shoo'.. insideimstilldancing: did you mean wrapping? like.. a sandwich? welp, i can do that t00..

hey DJ play the track..

I apologize for my rushed and awkward goodbye -- i was ravenous and ready to devour my [not so] pretty wrap...Also, the awful lighting in my room certainly didn't help but be grateful -- i was not looking my finest.. sweat + waterballoons with Ginge's little bro = a not so hot Jenny.

Anyhoo, i hope you enjoyed my failure of an attempt -- anyone want to be my personal camera woman? It would be much obliged. Let me tell ya what though - the finished product was pretty ballin'look at that b-peppah.. running for his life.

enjoy what's left of your day, ladies!

a walk in the park.. [literally]

Good morning chicas, hope all is well wherever the heck ya are!

1st things 1st i gotta say I think it's hysterical how many of you commented saying you received sunbutter samples and have no idea where they came from. Perhaps the sunbutter gods are watching over blogville? Or perhaps we're all absent-minded fools.. your call.

my tuesday started off as most days do.. java, blogging, breakie.. what can i say? i'm a creature of habit. Ginge did add some excitement in to my day when he asked if i wanted to hit up the park for a little pic-naccc action before venturing to the mall. So, i packed myself up a dy-no-mite lunch apple and garlic & onion laughing cow (x's 2) on a sandwich thin, special k delicious multigrain crackers and carrots. Definitely a happy meal in my book... minus the toy, dang-flabbit!
http://chef2chef.net/internship/wp-content/uploads/2008/08/happy-meal.jpg
after canoodling talking in the park ;) we realized that time had quickly escaped us. It was already about 4:00 and little Gingey had to be at his pals house by 5.. so unfortunately our trip to the mall wasn't as leisurely as i would have liked. We only had time to run in, hit up GNC for Ginge's imperative protein powder, and jet out of there.. Ah well, i suppose forever 21 will have o wait.

when i got home i was famished from all that [lack of] shopping and ready for a snack-attack.
rice pudding, diced apple, apple slices, mi-del whole wheat honey grahams.

after digesting i got my butt in gear and gave my new pilates body sculpt DVD a spin. I did the 30 minute full body workout and it was pretty good! She split the workout in to different segments targeting different body parts (abs, back, legs, glutes, arms) but because she worked so many different zones in such a small amount of time i didn't feel as though any part of my body got a GREAT workout. I think i'll try doing the 15 minute workouts that focus on one single area.. I'll letcha know how that goes for me.

I found a new veggie burger at the g-store the other day that sounded pretty legit, so in to my cart it went..
i hate to say it, but this burger was not as yummy as it looked.. though this may be attributed to my extreme lack of patience. I was stavin' marvin' so rather than use the suggested method of poppin' it in the oven i opted to stick 'er in the microwave and save myself the dreaded 8 extra minutes! *gasp!*

Fortunatly, i doused the burger in cheese, banana peppers and honey mustard so it wasn't a total bust.. and y'all know the whole wheat potato roll can salvage even the worst of burgers. The cheddar cheese popchips on the side certainly didn't kill the meal either. I LOVED THESE. they tasted like Cheeto's healthier twin sister...

http://epicurious.blogs.com/photos/uncategorized/2008/03/19/chestercheetahindrag_3.jpg
good looks certainly don't run in that family... unless you're in to the whole spray tan thing.

so for today i have some business to attend to at the bank and post office then later on tonight i have a date with daddy to watch Revolutionary Road! I've loved Leo ever since his days as Jack Dawson .. Kate Winslet is the luckiest chick alive if ya ask me.

happy hump day ladies... enjoy!

p.s. nut butter giveaway alert!
